The Weaver Bursary has been set up from the Estate of the late
W.T. Weaver from Brighton, Victoria. Mr and Mrs Weaver visited the Noosa/Tewantin
area on a number of occasions during their lives and, as a result of these visits, felt
they would like to benefit future residents of the area, especially the school children.
Each year the 3 highest academic achieving students from the
Tewantin State School are awarded the W.T. Weaver Bursary. The amount of
remuneration for each recipient each year depends on the decision of the W.T. Weaver
Board.
As a result of the generosity of Mr Weaver, these students receive
a financial payment each year for the next 5 years to help with the cost of their
education.
The Weaver Bursary is a great incentive to the students of the
school to strive for academic excellence.
