Often termed "The Jewel in the Crown" of the Sunshine Coast, the Noosa Shire is a unique blend of sophisticated charm, excellent climate and breathtaking scenery, making it one of Australia's most desirable locations.
Tewantin is situated approximately 10km upriver from the tourist destination of Noosa.
Tewantin is the historic and administrative centre for Noosa shire. It retains its small town charm with the old Queenslander homes and memorials. Within easy access of pristine beaches and the Noosa National Park, and yet away from the bustle of tourist crowds, Tewantin is a well established and friendly community.
All the services and facilities expected of a modern community are available.
The Tewantin State School has served the local community for over 120 years and celebrated its 125th Anniversary on 5 August 2000. We have a proud tradition of community involvement and academic achievement.
